BLBS Travel Baseball Summer League is the perfect fit for parents and players who want more competition than recreational ball, but don't want the expense, time commitment and fatigue of the 50 game schedules typical of travel ball teams. BLBS Summer League consists of some 70 teams in three age divisions, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Each team plays a 20 game schedule, one doubleheader per week on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The season includes a mid-season pool play format and a season ending seeded tournament in which all teams participate. All games are played at Ohio State's Fred Beekman Baseball Complex (rain outs and make up dates may necessitate using addition sites) beginning the end of May and ending in late July.
Summer League Features Games played at OSU's Fred Beekman Sports Complex late May through August. Fee includes parking for all players and guests as well as:
- Complete uniform (Hat, Jersey, Pant, Belt, Socks)
- 20 game schedule includes mid-season *Pool Play & Year End Tournament

*Pool Play (Mid Season) All teams participate. Teams are placed in 4 team pools based on their record at mid season. Format is winner/winner, loser/loser. Winners receive medals. Both games count toward overall standings.
*Year End Tournament Seeded tournament with all teams competing. Teams are placed in pools of 8 based on their season record. Each pool produces a champion. Each champion player receives a trophy
UniformsBLBS provides a complete MLB replica uniform as part of the League fee. Upgrades and/or custom uniforms will require an additional charge. Uniform selection is determined by the coach. Skill Clinics Big League Baseball School owners, Dan Briggs and John Pacella bring thirty years of experience as players (10 Major League Teams) and coaches at both the college and professional level, to these specialized skill clinics. these skill clinics concentrate on the core fundamentals every player needs to be successful. Big League has been instructing players from ages 9 through college since 1995 with over 150 competing successfully at the College and Professional level. BLBS Travel Baseball offers these development clinics free to league participants. Check the web site for times and dates. Field Rules & Maintenance- BLBS Travel Baseball will have the fields dragged, lined, and ready for play.
BLBS will set bases and provided game balls. - No soft toss against any fences will be permitted.
Portable soft toss nets MUST be 20 yards away from the dugout. - It is the team’s responsibility to thoroughly clean up the dugout before leaving.
- Parent’s/players should pick up after themselves.
- There is NO alcohol permitted at any facility.
- Vehicles are only permitted in designated parking areas, and MUST NOT enter the complex.

Youth Division League GuidelinesField Dimensions
- 9-10 Youth Division: 65 ft base path, 46 ft mound/home
- 11-12 Youth Division: 70 ft base path, 50 ft mound/home
- 13-14 Youth Division: 80 ft base path, 54 ft mound/home
All leagues follow Ohio High School Athletic Association Rule Book with the following exceptions:
- Home/Away: Determined by a coin flip prior to game.
- Umpire will set game clock.
- All roster players will hit in the batting order.
- Unlimited substitution - coach can move players in and out of lineup.
- Pitchers throw maximum 3 innings per game.
- All 6-inning games.
- No inning starts after 1 hour and 45 minutes, games may result in a tie.
- 10 run rule after 5 innings, 15 after 4 innings.
- Coach must agree on final score-keep personal record.
- Pinch run for catcher OK anytime (mandatory with 2 outs) Runner has to be the batter to make the last out.
- Tiebreaker: Used to determine division and tournament winners only. Based on season head to head play, then fewest runs allowed.
Non- Roster Players
- Substitutes are permitted to avoid forfeits in the following proportions: 9/1sub or 8/2 subs.
- If the team only has 7 players, game is forfeited, but you may play the game.
- Roster players should have priority in game play.
- Signed waiver required for each substitute (submitted to BLBS prior to game).
- Substitutes cannot pitch and must bat last in the line up.
Stealing Bases - 9-10, 11-12 Youth Divisions: No straight steal of home & no suicide squeeze.
- 13-14 Youth Division: Straight steel & suicide squeeze permitted.
Bat Restrictions - 9-10, 11-12 Youth Divisions: No bat restrictions
- 13-14 Youth Division: -5 or -3 bat only
Spikes - 9-10, 11-12 Youth Divisions: Rubber only
- 13-14 Youth Division: Metal or rubber
RegistrationPlayers may register with their team beginning January 1st, or as a free agent after November 1st
Players Registering as a Free Agent
- Select Free Agent from the Registration page.
Division determined by the player's age on first day of the League season - Payments may be made through our secure on-site system on a VISA, MasterCard or Discover card. Free Agents can begin registering November 1st, ($100 deposit is required).
- Once you are assigned to a team:
You will be asked to re register with your team (You will be given a $100 discount code to recapture your deposit).
We will make every attempt to place players with appropriate teams.
If you are not placed with a team: You will receive a full refund for your $100 deposit.
